The Department of Sciences and Method for Engineering (DISMI) is characterized and distinguished from other University structures by the highly interdisciplinary vocation of its research activities and its study programs. The main mission of DISMI is to make the most of its research activities, bringing innovative skills and cutting-edge knowledge capable of impacting individuals, organizations and, more broadly, the community to the center of training programs.
Thanks to research activities and study courses that are positioned at the intersection between mechanical and electronic integration, technological product and process innovation, basic sciences and business, students at different levels of professional development have the opportunity to explore theory and practice of innovation processes (both technological and organizational), as well as to understand the processes of creation and management of technology-driven businesses.
To systematically improve the quality of teaching and research activities, and respond to the needs of the community, DISMI has the fundamental mission of representing a collaborative hub for public and private organizations in the area, both regional and national.
At the same time, DISMI is an active and central player within a collaborative research network, consisting of various partnerships with national and international Research Centers and Academic Institutions, which enables it to actively engage with cutting-edge engineering topics characterizing both the international scientific debate and the demands of the industrial and service world.
DISMI seeks to pursue these objectives of creating and sharing knowledge and learning by placing the educational and cultural needs of its students at the center of its development, and promoting at all levels the fundamental values of integrity, responsibility, pluralism, scientific rigor, critical thinking, team work, creativity, meritocracy and excellence.
