ENGLISH LANGUAGE PLACEMENT TEST 2023-2024

Students attending the first year of three-year degree courses are invited to take the English language entrance test to check their level of preparation. For our Department, passing the test allows students to take the English exam (Eligibility) foreseen in the first year for the degree courses in Management Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering.

Placement is not provided for students on the professionalising degree course in Technologies for the Intelligent Industry.

There are two dates 22/09/2023 and 09/11/2022. The second date, or retrieval date, is reserved for those who did not take the test on the first date. You may only take the test once and only in person.

Students who for various reasons (e.g. transfer from another University) will be admitted to years subsequent to their first year do not have to take the test and cannot take it.

 

FAQs

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE TEST?

  1. Register on the Esse3 website (www.esse3.unimore. it), click on the menu at the top right and take note of the access credentials assigned at the end of the registration process;
  2. Login on the Esse3 site;
  3. From the menu at the top right click on Registered Area then “Valutazioni e test” and then “Iscrizioni Valutazioni e test”;
  4. Select the specific category “Test di lingua inglese” and choose the English language entrance test related to the degree programme you are interested in;
  5. Register and follow the procedure until final confirmation;
  6. Once you have registered, print out the application form on which you will find the session (date, time and place) for the test. The assigned session CANNOT be changed under any circumstances.

IF I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE TEST?

If, despite being registered, you did not show up for the test or were excluded due to a lack of places, you can register independently for the make-up date. You do not need to report your absence from the test.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE TEST DATES?

You can find them on the Language Centre's website (www.cla.unimore.it) in the section "Language tests > English Entry Test".

In order to be allowed to take the test it is essential to have with you:

  1. your UNIMORE credentials (Esse3 credentials);
  2. a valid identity document;
  3. your personal headphones or earphones (3.5 mm jack only) 

Without credentials, document or headphones you will not be able to take the test.
